Winnipeg Housing Rehabilitation Corporation (WHRC) was founded by the City of Winnipeg in the late 1970's, as a non-profit developer and manager of affordable housing in Winnipeg.

During the last two decades WHRC has developed over 700 homes for Winnipeg residents. Winnipeg Housing Rehabilitation Corporation's housing projects include renovating single family homes, duplexes and triplexes. WHRC focuses on the revitalization of Winnipeg's inner city neighbourhoods.

Buildings that once were empty and derelict have found new life. People who require housing have found homes in inner city neighbourhoods. Today Winnipeg Housing Rehabilitation Corporation manages some of the best-maintained buildings in the inner city. WHRC provides safe and comfortable homes to new immigrants, single mothers, couples, families, seniors, or anyone that may have difficulty finding affordable housing due to poverty and other social difficulties.

WHRC's committed staff and volunteer board of directors have made our corporation a model for other cities to follow in our ongoing efforts to revitalize the inner city and provide affordable housing. The support and commitment of all levels of government have contributed greatly to our housing projects and neighbourhood revitalization.

Today the vision of Winnipeg Housing Rehabilitation Corporation is to continue efforts to bring about change in the lives of families and our aging neighbourhoods by providing quality housing. Our goal is to work closely with communities and residents to determine housing needs and to provide assistance in accomplishing community goals.
