Project Glow is a program to support tenants through resource coordination and education. The services vary from information on budgeting and safety programs to language difficulties, addictions and getting feedback from tenants on how WHRC can better serve them.
Project Glow benefits the tenants and WHRC both. The tenant is educated in real life situations of responsibility, things they may do to make life easier, learning new skills, becoming aware of resources available to them. In addition Project Glow gives tenants a vehicle to express concerns they have to WHRC.
The Supporting Housing Coordinator's assistance is geared to what an individual tenant needs. WHRC understands that everyone needs a little support and help now and then and encourages tenants to use the services provided by Project Glow.
The Good Neighbour Award is one of Project Glow's programs. Each month, tenants nominate other tenants who they feel have been a good neighbour. One name is drawn from the entries to receive the award; which reminds us that there are those living among us that should be recognized for the good work they do.
Project Glow is ongoing. Watch for the Project Glow monthly newsletter or call the office and ask for the Supportive Housing Coordinator or mention Project Glow! Project Glow is a program funded by the Manitoba Government's Department of Family Services and Housing.
